Lion Rich has served his District as Youth Outreach Chairman for 5 years, Region Chairman, Vice District Governor (1998-1999), and Governor (1999-2000). He has also been the Fall Conference Chairman, State Convention School Chair, Multiple District Youth Outreach Chairman, Lions Of Virginia Foundation Director, LCIF Chairman, District Bulletin Editor, Long Range Planning Chair, Public Relations Chair, and Virginia Lions Hearing Foundation Director.
Lion Rich has received 100% Presidents Award, 100% Secretary Award, Lion of the Year, LCI President's Certificate of Appreciation, LCI Youth Outreach Chairmans Award, and LCI Certificate of Appreciation as a Facilitator at the International Convention in Philadelphia.
Lion Rich is a Melvin Jones Fellow and a Kentucky Colonel. In Indianapolis, this year, he proudly accepted a Certificate of Appreciation at the LOL meeting for his work on the LOL Directory. He also worked on the Elections Committee at the International Convention in Indianapolis.
PDG Rich has attended 6 International Conventions, 4 USA/Canada Forums, 15 Virginia State Conventions, 26 District Fall Conferences, and 19 Mid-Winter Conferences.
Lion Rich is a member of the Pin Traders Club of Virginia and is the Pin Traders Club President. He has also served as the Virginia Pin Traders Vice-President (2000-2002) and as a Director. He is also a member of the Iowa Pin Traders Club, Pennsylvania Pin Traders, North Carolina Pin Traders, and Lions International Pin Traders Club.
Lion Rich is also Past President of the Virginia Federated Communties for Drug Free Youth. This year he serves as Public Relations Chairman, State Convention PR School Chair, and State PR Chair.
Lion Rich was appointed to the State Correctional Systems, Research and Development Team this past year. A group that was organized for the purpose of developing an educational program for the Juvenile Correction Facility. He was instrumental in placing the Lions Quest - Skills for Learning program into the State Juvenile Corrections System.
Lion Rich enjoys Reading, Writing, His Computer, Designing Pins, Golfing, Fishing, Pin Trardng, and Cooking. Lion Rich has a design businness, Thevans Designs, with his wife Lion Susan Evans.
